Tomorrow will be a major day. Students will present a number of UN Sustainable Development Goal inspired music compositions. Students have created videos, reimagined videos, created original compositions and made new videos to go with current music. Some are very powerful. I will post audio and video links after the concert as an archive of our performances.
In addition to our SDG compositions, students in band and choir will be performing the following program.
Choir
In addition to our performance, students in the afternoon will present what they have learned and are going to do with their SDG. Many groups have created short and long term goals to raise money, awareness, and continue to help local charities with whom we already have partnerships. The group I've had the pleasure of supervising this week has researched the causes and connections of hunger in the world. I was so happy to hear them ask the RIGHT questions. The group also made connections between hunger, poverty and sustainability. Yes the world is connected, and the students themselves made these connections. I love times like this.
